Huawei Mate Xs im Hands-On

More and more manufacturers are launching foldable smartphones on the market. Huawei has already launched the second foldable after the Mate X with the Mate Xs. However, there are still problems with the display, not only at Huawei – although they have used a very high quality material. In the video you can see the Mate Xs in hands-on.

The Huawei Mate Xs uses a two-layer flexible display material made of polyimide in aerospace quality. This improves the screen stability by 80 percent compared to a single shift. But that has its price.

Even if the Huawei Mate Xs is far from being the perfect foldable smartphone, the development itself can cost a lot. Because such a foldable display is quite expensive, but in the case of the Mate Xs it is indescribably expensive.

For the first time, Huawei is bringing a foldable to Germany with the Mate Xs.

Huawei Mate Xs: that's how expensive the display is

Loud Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong, the price of this display per gram is three times the gold price. This is currently just under EUR 05, 00 per gram. So that means that the display of the Huawei Mate Xs per gram is EUR 141, 00 may cost.

Exactly how much the display weighs is not known. but the prices are incredible. And yet this display is still far from convincing.

Despite the high price, a lot of development work will still be necessary so that the display of the foldable smartphones finally meets all requirements. And of course it has to be much cheaper so that the prices for the models will also drop.
