Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 4G in the test: extensive equipment

Compared to the 3G model, the Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro (for testing) , the LTE variant offers little new. Here you also get a smartwatch with a double display, which is divided into two layers. On request or after a long period of non-use, the watch switches from the AMOLED screen to the monochrome essential mode of the LCD screen. In this energy-saving mode, the watch then runs for up to 30 days, but only measures heart rate and steps in the background and does without the usual smartwatch functions.

These include normal use in addition to LTE connection thanks to eSIM such as GPS for location determination, NFC for mobile payment and Wear OS with the Google Assistant as a language assistant. A compass is also on board as well as WLAN, Bluetooth, loudspeaker, microphone and protection from water (IP 68). Another change is the weight reduced by around seven grams, although the size and thickness and thus one of the biggest criticisms of the predecessor have remained the same.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 4G in the test: exciting double display

As already mentioned, the screen of the Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro is a double display, which is between AMOLED as required and LCD changes. With a round design, the watch offers a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels and thus a high pixel density of 288 ppi. Contents look good and are easy to read even in sunlight – the brightness sensor adjusts the display accordingly to the lighting conditions. WearOS also cuts a good figure on the Ticwatch Pro 4G and usually performs properly.

Thanks to the LCD screen, the battery achieves a runtime of up to 30 days. With normal use, the 415 – mAh battery the clock in our test about 25: 30 hours with energy, then he has to be fully charged for 1: 42 hours. In comparison with other models of our best list indeed no top values, but still decent.

Buying advice: Smartwatches

It is not much different with smart watches than with smartphones: the countless models on the market differ in part marginally, in part fundamentally, in order to meet different requirements to be able to do justice. When buying, you should pay particular attention to the brightest possible display, which with OLED can offer good picture quality without loss of contrast at oblique viewing angles. But even a long-lasting battery can be just as important when buying as the right wristband or mobile phone compatibility.
