Conclusion from 13 . ().
The Huawei MateBook D 15 (53010 TUY) shows in the test a solid overall concept with minor weaknesses. The performance of the AMD Ryzen processor is very good, and the handling of the Matebook D 15 is also convincing, but the notebook fails in our battery runtime measurements. The equipment could also be better. The bottom line is that the price-performance ratio is good. What you should pay attention to when buying a notebook, we reveal in the video.

Huawei MateBook D 15 ( 53010 TUY ) in the test: strong display and top performance
Huawei has been serving the higher-quality market for notebooks in the 13, 3-inch form factor with models that closely resemble those of Apple and Xiaomi , With the MateBook D 15 (53010 TUY) we have a classic 15, 6-inch notebook in the test. With 261 cd / m², the display is reasonably bright and, thanks to the IPS panel, also stable in viewing angles. According to the price, however, the color space coverage is quite thin, which is associated with a pale color rendering. The surface of the display is matt.
In terms of performance, the device can not be asked for long: Thanks to AMD Ryzen 5 3500 U there is enough power available for everyday tasks and with that strong, integrated graphics chip, you can also play simple games smoothly. The processor is supported by 8 gigabytes of RAM and a very fast SSD with 256 Gigabyte memory size.
Huawei MateBook D 15 ( 53010 TUY ): Nice casing, satisfactory battery life
The metal housing together with the narrow display frame gives a valuable impression and gives the device good torsional rigidity. It is with 1.5 kilograms for a 15, 6-inch device very light. The ClickPad is large and has a pleasantly sliding surface. We found the keyboard to be slightly disappointing: the key surface with its cheap-looking plastic does not quite match the rest of the impression and the travel is very short. Interesting detail: In order to realize the narrow display frame, Huawei has loaded the webcam into the keyboard. There is another key between the F6 and F7 keys, which extends when pressed and reveals a webcam. Such a webcam is practical for people with security concerns because it can be stowed away blindly; the associated frog perspective in use is an unsightly side effect.
The AMD-Ryzen – 3000 – Mobile processors have already greatly improved their power consumption, limp but still lagging behind the Intel counterparts. After Huawei gave the MateBook D 15 unfortunately only a very small battery with 41 donated watt hours, only satisfactory results Battery life: around 7 hours for video playback and 4.5 hours for productive use are rather lean.

Equipment: Unfortunately only 1x USB 3.0
At first glance, the Huawei offers an acceptable configuration with an HDMI port and four USB sockets. Unfortunately, the design of the USB ports is not up to date in our eyes. Two Type A ports (classic USB connection) only understand the slow 2.0 standard, one Type A port is of the faster 3.0 type. The USB-C port is welcome in today's notebooks. This is used for the MateBook 15 at the same time, it is also used as a charging port, so it is used more often – and it only uses the slow USB 2.0 standard for data transfers. Too bad, because a USB-C socket in particular can be used in a variety of ways, so this cheap solution leaves us somewhat at a loss.
The power button houses a fingerprint sensor for a quick login under Windows – this is quite practical.
