Fernseher kaufen: Worauf Sie achten sollten

Conclusion from 24. 03. 2020

The Panasonic TX – 40 GXW 804 offers 40 inch screen diagonal – which are now considered rather small – but at a price that is not that small. The picture is quite decent, but the unspectacular maximum brightness is not suitable for HDR content and the contrast drops significantly when viewed from the side. The sound is inconspicuous and the equipment does not go above average and lacks twin tuners, for example. Only the power consumption is pleasantly low.

Low power consumption in Business
Good color space coverage
For 40 Customs quite expensive
Limited viewing angles
No twin Tuner

Panasonic TX – 40 GXW 804: Test values

bright spot of the Panasonic TX – 40 GXW 804 is the low power consumption that averages in normal operation 45, 7 watts is – that is worth the A + energy label to the EU. In the picture there can be no question of “light” view, because the maximum brightness of 427 cd / m² for HDR content is rather low. The 90 percent DCI-P3 color space coverage, however, go full okay. Unfortunately, the VA display suffers from the typical narrow viewing angles. As soon as they deviate ten degrees from the optimal viewing angle in one direction, the contrast is halved. The location should be chosen well.

The equipment of the Panasonic TX – 40 GXW 804 is fine in principle, but leaves room for improvement. There is only one tuner for cable, satellite and DVB-T2, and Airplay and DTS are not supported. In addition to two USB ports, you can access three HDMI 2.0 inputs.

Panasonic uses Firefox OS as a smart TV operating system. There you can use the streaming apps from major providers such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Maxdome and Youtube. With the format support only DTS is missing, otherwise with Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, HDR 10 + and more everything common covered. As an extra, the price of round 550 Euro six months HD + with cardless decryption included. In our best list the somewhat expensive Panasonic is in the back third.

Alternative with a better price-performance ratio

The Samsung GQ 43 Q 60 R is a 43 – inch TV at the price of round 520 Euro. But you get a brighter picture than the Panasonic and a great viewing angle. The equipment is also more convincing overall: twin tuner and 4x HDMI. As usual for Samsung, the TV does not support Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. The power consumption is higher but comparatively reasonable – the Samsung also has the EU energy label A +.
