Apple would be preparing the launch of an iPad of 10, 8 inches that would arrive during the second half of 2020. This was confirmed by Ming-Chi Kuo, who has an unblemished reputation when it comes to Apple releases. According to 9To5Mac , Kuo anticipated this version and a new iPad mini between 8.5 and 9 inches that will arrive later.
The analyst predicted that Apple will launch two inexpensive versions of the iPad . The first, a model with a screen of 10, 8 inches that would be available during in the second half of the year. The second is an update to the iPad mini that will be released in the first half of 2021.
Kuo did not offer any further information, only saying that the key features would be its affordable price and the adoption of fast chips . Currently the 2-inch 10 iPad is the cheapest model available in the Apple store. If the rumors are true, the technology company would replace this model with one with screen of 10, 8 “and processor A 12 Bionic .
iPad mini with Touch ID sensor under the screen?
The case of the iPad mini is similar, since it would increase the screen size going from 7.9 to 8.5 or 9 inches. Current iPad and iPad mini models have a Touch ID sensor on the home button. Following the logic of the iPhone SE 2020, Apple would keep the exclusive Face ID of the iPad Pro .
The Cupertino company would also launch an iPad Air with Touch ID fingerprint reader under the screen . The rumor, published a few weeks ago, anticipates that we will see a renewed iPad Air with reduced frames and a screen. inches with mini-LED technology.
It is unknown if this technology would also be applied to the iPad mini or the iPad of 10,8 inches. A sensor under the screen would leave out the start button and consequently, we would have a larger display . The downside is that this would increase the cost of production, away from the affordable iPad concept.
Apple Glasses may arrive at 2022
The analyst also mentioned that the Apple Glasses would be released sometime in 2022 . Apple's augmented reality glasses have been rumored for years and now Kuo is dating them. Previously it had been said that they would arrive in 2020 in order to position themselves as an “eventual successor to the iPhone”.
The coronavirus pandemic and the economic recession have forced many companies to adjust their launches. While Ming-Chi Kuo points to a 2022 as the “closest” year in which we would see these glasses, others assure that will be up to 2023 . According to Bloomberg , the technology company would launch a VR and AR helmet in 2022, followed by her Apple Glasses a year later.
The field of augmented reality is still on the radar of Apple , who is developing a new 3D sensor that would be the main piece of these products.
