hope to finally end their search for a striker after stepping up their bid to land Sebastien Haller.
West Ham are in talks with Haller's club Frankfurt over a deal worth around £40m for the French frontman and are quietly confident of reaching an agreement.
Haller's representatives are also on standby to travel to England for face-to-face talks about a potential big-money switch for the 25 year-old.
West Ham are desperate to land a new striker after running out of patience with Marko Arnautovic and selling him to Shanghai SIPG in a cut-price £22.4m deal.
HALLER STATS FROM LAST SEASON
They have also released Andy Carroll and sold Lucas Perez this summer.
They initially attempted to hijack Maxi Gomez's move to Valencia but were unable to agree a deal with Celta Vigo.
Another target, Napoli's Duvan Zapata, is not for sale while Bournemouth's Callum Wilson is set to sign a new contract to extend his stay at The Vitality Stadium.
That has led West Ham to Haller who scored 20 goals in 41 appearances last season.
revealed in June that Manchester United had also identified Haller as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
