The OPHS Sr. Girls curling team competed in SHSAA Regional Playoffs on Feb. 15 and 16 in Estevan.
Four Regions were at the competition with two teams representing each Region. By placing second at Districts held in Oxbow Feb. 12 and 13, the OPHS team represented South East #2.
The team’s first game was Friday at noon against Wakah #1. They defeated the team 7-4. The girls then played Yorkton Sacred Heart. The girls came from behind, stealing two in the 7th and another three points in the 8th to win 7-5. By winning these two games, the girls were in “A” final against Esterhazy. The girls played amazing and shook hands at the end of the 6th, winning 8-2. Esterhazy dropped down to the “B”, which they won. Both teams advanced to the SHSAA Curling Provincials that are being hosted in Carrot River on Feb 28, Mar. 1 and 2.
