I know this past break in the school year is called the Mid-Winter break but I hope that we are way past the mid of winter!!
I am not sure I can take much more!
Now it is not the snow I am tired of or even the cold, we have been pretty lucky to have not had to put up with too much cold this winter.
I am just tiring of the whole rat race of winter. I know I will regret whining about being too busy when in a few months from now, Boycie, our youngest boy, will be done with minor sports.
I will miss the enthusiasm he has for all of the activities he participates in and I will miss watching him play volleyball, hockey, baseball and track.
What I won't miss is the pressures that hockey puts on his schedule and on his body! He currently is still sporting a sore leg, a slightly stiff neck and a huge elbow, all from some form of hockey - recreational, school or organized!
I also won't miss the pressure that my husband endures during playoff season. It is beyond anyone's imagination how hard it is to schedule make up games, playoff games and SHA games, all around everyone else's busy schedules.
And the pressures of coaching our little angels!! I salute Grant and any other coach who steps onto the bench with a group of kids that all too often are not that interested in advice!!
To all of you out there trying to organize hockey, curling, basketball, snowmobile rallies, Telemiracle fundraisers, bingos, bake sales, bowling, and on and on and on!! THANK YOU & GREAT JOB OUT THERE!!!
Our communities can not survive without the dedication of all those who take on the task of coaching and organizing all of the activities that keep our communities vital.
Talk to me in a year from now and I will undoubtedly take it all back and I will be whining about how bored I am without a hockey team to help organize!!
