I am so excited for the coming of Sunday as I sit and write this!!!
We're going to the 'ship, we're going to the 'ship!!!! I text that note home to Delaney and the grandmas following the rider win and just confused them all!!!
That now famous line from the movie Hardball could be heard all through that sea of green following the trampling the Riders gave the Stampeders in the West Final.

Now, I didn't win any Mother of the Year awards this weekend, after deserting my two younger children, one fresh out of surgery with a brand new cast on her arm!! But my Mom wins Grandma of the Year, thanks Mom!!
I knew that I should stay home after Delaney hurt herself on Friday and had to have surgery to have her arm set and pins inserted but I just couldn't miss that game!
I credit my Rider Pride to my cousin Melanie, her brothers, her Mom and Dad and their hometown Govan!! I remember going to their place when we were kids and not quite understanding their passion for that football game.
I started to follow the Riders in my teen years and then lived with Melanie for a year, then I was hooked.
We even went to meet some riders at the car dealership in 1983!! Marcellus Green, do you remember him??
Anyways, many years later and with the addition of texting to our lives, Melanie and I communicate regularly through the games and I just wanted to be in the city to celebrate the inevitable win with her and her Rider crazy family!!
Well, it was well worth it and Delaney and Boycie were good!!!
We took in pregame and postgame at the Press Box Sports bar where it was packed with cheering, chanting fans and then we rode a bus to and from the game.
It was great fun to be in Regina for the game, eventhough our seats weren't that good. I was filled with pride for our province as I cheered along with tens of thousands of green clad fans.
Eldest son, Dallas (Grant and I took him and friend Justin) one upped me though. After we went home, the younger crowd carried on where they were lucky enough to meet up with the Riders. Melanie's son Michael, who has worked with the Riders since he was a young boy, introduced Dallas and Justin to many of the Rider team!!
I hope as you read this we are all hoarse from cheering on our Riders to their fourth Grey Cup victory!!!
GO RIDERS!!!!!
