Over 20 representatives from most of the 12 municipalities invited discussed ways and means of recruiting new doctors for the area. Oxbow and Carnduff took the lead in organizing the preliminary meeting at the Carnduff Legion Hall January 20.

A livestock oriented workshop entitled “Sustainability within Southeast Saskatchewan” was held in Carnduff on January 14, 2010.  20 people from throughout the watershed enjoyed an afternoon of informative speakers organized by the Lower Souris River Watershed Committee Inc.
Sheldon Kyle, Co-ordinator for the Lower Souris Watershed Committee Inc., began by discussing the various projects currently being done in our watershed, as well as potential projects concerning dugout management, constructed wetlands, and water management. Meeting January 25, Oxbow Town Council agreed to proceed with plans for the paving and servicing of the Coldridge Road. Bullee Consulting Ltd. of Saskatoon will be asked to put together cost estimates for paving, sewer and water, based on survey work that’s been done.
On a Swanson/Mercer motion, Council agreed to initiate the local improvement process, hire Bullee and apply for federal provincial funding to cover two thirds of the project cost. Once costs are established, affected property owners have the chance to petition against the work.
