Milestone -

The Milestone Flyers played twice on the weekend. First they travelled to Ogema on Friday to battle the Colts. The Flyers had leads of 4-1, 6-1, and cruised to an 8-2 road win. Don Sauter (2g, 1a), Kyle Kvisle (1g, 2a) and Kent McDonald (3a) all had 3 point nights. Mike Williams, Marshall Bakken and Andrew Howden each had a goal and an assist. Chance Olsen and Brad Ehr each had a goal while Mike Garratt, Travis Holland and Jimmy Petersen chipped in with assists.

The second game got a lot tougher as they were at home to take on the 1st place undefeated Balgonie Bisons. Balgonie led 4-3 after one and both teams exchanged a pair of goals in the second making it 6-5 headed into the third. The guys played hard with a lot of good chances but in the end came up short as the Bisons added an empty netter for an 8-5 win. The Flyers scoring was led by Kyle Kvisle with 2goals and 1 assist. Single goals came from Chance Olsen, Don Sauter and Mike Garratt. Andrew Howden had 3 assists, Kent McDonald had 2 and Travis Holland and Marshall Bakken each had one.

By the look of it the boys have a busy weekend ahead with 3 games in 3 nights with Thursday and Saturday being at home. Rouleau is in town on Thursday and Gordon's on Saturday. The Flyers also begin their first round of SHA Provincial 'C' playoffs against the Whitewood Orioles of the Triangle Hockey League. That round has to be completed by the February 15th, I will pass the dates along as soon as I get them.

Come out and see some exciting senior hockey, see you at the rink!
