Grenfell -
One Grenfell man is doing more than his share to spread Olympic spirit, with an elaborate snow sculpture that he's created in his front yard.
The sculpture on Alice Street, created by Lloyd Gwilliam, features a replica of ancient Greek ruins and an Inukshuk.
"It's probably been four weeks that I've been playing with the Greek ruins, and the Inukshuk - maybe four hours," Gwilliam said.
"The Olympics are coming up, and we needed some kind of tribute. It's nice to have something in Grenfell. During these cold winter months, you've got to have something to break the monotony. It's just something for people going by - something to look at."
The weather is back to normal now, but for a while warm temperatures presented some unexpected challenges in maintaining his creation.
"Actually, it's been melting. The warm weather's been tough on it. It was actually better when it was 30 below."
The sculpture is now lit at night, so passersby can take a look any time.
Gwilliam's neighbor played a part in inspiring him, with her abundance of holiday decorations.
"I couldn't compete with her Christmas lights, because she's got so many, so I figured 'This ought to do it,'" he laughed.
